Five arrested for Tshwane ATM bombing

Five suspects have been arrested for allegedly bombing an ATM at Carousel View in Tshwane on Friday.
The suspects targeted the ATM, which is located at a fuel station, in the early hours of the morning.
Police tracked the suspects to a safe house in Garankuwa, where the gang opened fire on the officers.
"As the police were approaching, suspects started firing shots and a shootout ensued," says police spokesperson Mavela Masondo.
"Four suspects were arrested at the safe house while more than three other suspects fled on foot.

"Police followed those who escaped and arrested the fifth suspect, where one firearm was recovered."
The police discovered explosives and stained cash, believed to have been stolen from a bombed ATM, in the safe house.
The suspects will face charges of business robbery, possession of explosives, possession of suspected stolen property, attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
