Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Police in Limpopo are investigating a case of culpable homicide after five people were killed in an accident early this morning.
The accident took place along the R536 in the Hoedspruit area.
"It is alleged that the driver of a bakkie that was transporting eleven people from a local tavern, lost control of the vehicle, which overturned after it crashed into a tree", says provincial police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe.
"Five people, including the driver, were killed instantly. Another five were seriously injured and taken to Tintswalo Hospital in Acornhoek. Two others sustained moderate injuries".
"The identities of the deceased are still unknown at this stage".
"The cause of the accident is not yet know, but police investigations are continuing", says Ngoepe.
