Five killed in Vanderbijlpark crash

Five people were killed in a crash involving three cars on the R553 in Vanderbijlpark on Sunday night.
The victims includes a pregnant woman who succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Two other people survived the crash and only sustained moderate injuries.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says paramedics arrived at the scene to find four people trapped inside one of the vehicles.
“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 23h00 to find two light motor vehicles on the side of the road while another vehicle was found in the middle of the road.
“Three of the entrapped patients had already succumbed to the numerous injuries while the fourth was in a critical condition. A woman, believed to be 8-months-pregnant, had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition while two other patients had sustained moderate injuries.”
The cause of the crash is not known.
