Foreign national nabbed with R1m drugs at OR Tambo
Police and Crime Intelligence arrested a 69-year-old foreign national at OR Tambo International Airport on Wednesday.
The 69-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs to India.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the man was arrested with eight kilograms of pure heroin.
"The elderly man was found in possession of eight Kilograms of pure heroin worth a street value of approximately R1 216 000 concealed in his travelling bag.
"The suspect will appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Friday, on charges of possession and dealing in drugs."
