Former ANCYL leader guilty of murder
The Randburg Magistrates Court has convicted former ANC Youth League leader Patrick Wisani of murder.
Judge Mohamed Ismail found that Wisani guilty of killing his 24-year old partner last year.
Wisani beat her to death a broom and sjambok.
Wisani reacted in court by saying he is sad, but then also joked that he might start a new ANC Youth League branch in prison.
His conviction comes five days before the start of government's annual 16 days of activism against woman and child abuse.
The Sonke Gender Justice group says they will react after Wisani's sentencing, which is expected later today.
