Former Bafana defender Anele Ngcongca killed in car crash

Former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Anele Ngcongca has been killed in a car crash in KwaZulu-Natal
The 33-year-old football star was involved in a crash on the N2 near Mtunzini on Monday morning.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the victim was declared dead on the scene.
“The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for medical attention.The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. A case of culpable homicide has been opened for investigation by Mtunzini SAPS.”
Ngcongca, who earned 53 caps for Bafana Bafana, enjoyed nine seasons at Belgium club Genk before returning home to play for the Brazilians.
He had just joined KZN-based club AmaZulu on a loan from the champions.
The former Bafana defender made his debut at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Ngcongca was due to have been unveiled as an Usuthu player this week.
