Former G4S employee nabbed for stealing R2m from company

A former G4S Cash Solutions employee is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the theft of R2.4 million.

The man, who has been on the run since 2019, allegedly stole the money while he was employed at the company’s depot in Westville.

 

The suspect was arrested by the Hawks in the same Durban suburb on Sunday.

 

Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale says the suspect allegedly used the money to build a house in KwaZulu-Natal. 

 

"It is alleged that in December 2019, the suspect was an employee at G4S and stole approximately stole R2.4 million from cash solution depot in Westville.

 

"The suspect is alleged to have built a house from the suspected stolen millions and therefore the Asset Forfeiture Unit will assist with further investigation."
