Former Free State, Agriculture and Rural Development head Peter Thabethe has been released on R10 000 bail.

He was granted bail by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Thabethe was arrested alongside Gupta-linked businessman Iqbal Sharma last week Wednesday.
The pair was arrested along with 13 others, in connection with their involvement in the alleged defrauding of the Free State Department of Agriculture.
The department paid R25 million for a feasibility study contract to Nulane Investment 204 (PTY) LTD.

The case has been postponed to 5 July.
Meanwhile, Sharma is expected to bring his bail application at 14:00 on Monday.
