Former minister Barbara Hogan calls for action against Zuma

ANC veteran and former Public Enterprises Minister Barbara Hogan has weighed in on the President Zuma-Gupta matter.
Hogan said many within the party have felt powerless over the years to say or do anything about the close relationship between the parties that has now led to revelations of direct interference in government matters.
The former minister said she was pleased with change setting in.
"We see now the extent to which the state is being captured. I think we need to focus on how we get the rot sorted out and very fast," Hogan said.
Hogan said the ANC's NEC must do the right thing when they meet this weekend.
"It has worried and concerned me that he has not been tempered and has not been more hesitant and, from what we have heard now, has just gone right ahead and not cared. So he must face the consequences. I'm just asking that those who have the power to do something, must take the right legal advice, their actions reflect a very considered and purposeful approach."
JacarandaFM News asked her if she had confidence in President Zuma.
"That's a difficult question, because he has allowed his family's business interests and the interests of business to influence his decisions. One wonders, can you have confidence in a person who doesn't have confidence in his own party and his own executive to make the decisions that the constitution requires," Hogan said.
While the ANC NEC is expected to meet, former youth league leaders said they will protest at the venue and demand that Zuma be recalled.
