The Hawks in North West have arrested former Chief Financial Officer of Bojanala District Municipality Olga Ndlovu for alleged corruption linked to an R1.9 million irregular tender.
The 44-year-old woman appeared in the Rustenburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday.
The case relates to a 2018 tender awarded to Marole Nameng Trading by former Municipal Manager Pogisho Shikwane to supply disaster relief materials to the municipality.
"Reports indicate that Shikwane authorised payment to the tune of R1.9 million to Marole Nameng Trading without following proper supply chain processes,." said Hawks spokesperson Tinyiko Mathebula
"Marole Nameng Trading allegedly received payment but never delivered the procured materials.
"Further investigations revealed that Mahle Supply, a company owned by Olga Leslina Ndlovu, received R400 000 from Marole Nameng Trading during her tenure as CFO."
Shikwane and Malesa have since appeared in court and were granted R10 000 and R5 000 bail, respectively.
The matter has been postponed to 30 November for further investigation.
