Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the Pretoria High Court sentenced Selala to three life sentences for the murders and on Thursday, the sentences run concurrently.

Mohlala said Selala, 42, shot dead his two children and his estranged wife, on December 7, 2013 in Siyabuswa.

“It is alleged that the man fatally shot his two children while they were asleep, and then drove to Siyabuswa C, where his wife was staying, and also fatally shot her,” he said.

“The SAPS management welcome the sentences as it will allow the family of the victims to close the chapter in peace and also to show that no one is above the law irrespective of the position one holds.”
