Four people have been arrested in Vuwani after six cars, including a police vehicle, where damaged.
SAPS say the violence broke out following the community gathering at Nandoni sports field in Vuwani on Sunday.
The police’s Motlafela Mojapelo says three of the damaged vehicles belong to the SABC.
“Six vehicles, including a police vehicle and two privately owned vehicles were damaged. The windows were smashed while four VIP toilets where overturned and pelted with stones,” says Mojapelo.
The suspects will appear in court soon on charges of malicious damage to property.
Meanwhile, the pro-Makhado group has confirmed the shutdown in the area has been suspended.
Mojapelo says police will continue to monitor the area.
