Four Carletonville police officers nabbed for murder, theft
Updated | By Karabo Tebele
Four police officers have been arrested in connection with murder and theft following the death of two suspects in Carletonville, west of Johannesburg.
The officers responded to the theft of copper cables last month when they allegedly killed two suspects on the scene.
Spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) Ndileka Cola says the men in blue failed to report the incident.
"It’s further alleged that when the police left the crime scene, they went to a scrapyard and sold the copper cable.
"They left the two deceased males at the scene and did not report the shooting incident to Ipid as required by law."
The suspects will appear in the Oberholzer Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
