Four children killed in accident between ambulance and car

Four children died after an ambulance and a car collided on the N17 at the Leandra Toll Plaza in Mpumalanga on Friday.

Another five people sustained injuries in the accident.
The spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Joseph Mabuza, says it is believed that the car made a u-turn and collided with the ambulance.
"There were seven people in the car, four of which were children. Unfortunately, all four children died in the accident", said Mabuza.
"The three other passengers were rushed to hospital".
"In the ambulance, the driver and the passenger were seriously injured and they were taken to hospital as well".
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
