Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says the suspects were arrested at the weekend.

"A man went to the Estcourt community service centre and confessed that he was tired of eating human flesh."

Mbhele says the man was arrested on the spot.

"The man led police to two houses where three more suspects were arrested. The four suspects have been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and being in possession of human parts."

The four suspects including two traditional healers appeared in court yesterday.

Mbhele has urged the community of Estcourt to report any missing family members.

"I would advise that people who have their people missing and have reported them to the police to go to the mortuary for (DNA) samples to be taken."

The case has been remanded to next Monday for a formal bail application.
