Four dead in Moreleta Park hostage drama
Updated | By MornéJK
Police confirmed that four people were killed during an 8 hour long hostage situation in the Pretoria East suburb of Moreleta Park.

One of the deceased is the gunman, who held two security officers and an estate manager hostage before allegedly turning the gun on himself.
The South African Police Task Force intervened in the hostage negotiations yesterday afternoon after reports of shootings in the townhouse complex.
It was later established that the alleged shooter took three hostages and according to police captain, Dave Miller the motive for the shooting is not clear.
"Three bodies were lying outside the house where the shooter was hiding," Miller said.

He added that the hostage drama came as a result of a domestic issue involving a car that was damaged by the alleged shooter.
"We understand that the man damaged his neighbour's car after a heated argument where after security personal was accompanied by police attended to the situation," he said.
Miller says that members of the special task force discovered the body of the shooter after entering the property last night.
"Our forensic team spent the night gathering evidence from the crime scene, but at this stage we can't comment on the motive for the incident as it is being investigated," Miller said.
