Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Four people died and 11 others were injured when a minibus overturned on the R40 Barberton Road about 3km outside Nelspruit in Mpumalanga on Thursday, paramedics said.
Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said paramedics arrived and found that a minibus had overturned several times and came to a standstill back on its wheels.
Some of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle and found lying on the ground, she said.
"Upon assessment of all of the occupants, paramedics found that two men and two women had tragically lost their lives during the rollover accident," said Steinmann.
"Four people were found to have sustained critical injuries and seven people sustained serious injuries."
She said the injured people were treated and then transported to hospital for further medical care.
The cause of the accident was not known.
