Four killed in shootout with police in Midrand

Four suspects have been killed in a shootout with the Hawks and other law enforcement agencies in Midrand on Wednesday morning.
Two other suspects were injured in the crossfire.
The incident took place on Olifantsfontein road in Glen Austin.
Police spokesperson Katlego Mogale says that law enforcement agencies received reports that a truck, which was transporting electronic devices, would be hijacked on Wednesday morning.

The suspects’ vehicles were then spotted on Olifantsfontein Road in Glen Austin.
"Upon realising that the team is about to pounce, the suspects fired shots and a high-speed chase as well as shootout ensued. Four suspects were fatally wounded and two others suffered minor injuries which were attended to on scene."
Police managed to recover two unlicensed firearms and four vehicles used by the suspects.
