Four killed in Ulundi bakkie crash

Four people were killed and nine injured when a bakkie crashed near Ulundi on Monday.
Robert McKenzie, spokesman for the KwaZulu-Natal provincial Emergency Medical Service, said that the accident happened on the R66, which connects Ulundi with Pongola.
He said paramedics had treated 10 patients and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. One of those, believed to be the driver, succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at hospital, bringing the total killed to four – three men and one woman.
The injured were taken to Nkonjeni Hospital.
KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate spokeswoman Zinhle Mngomezulu said they were travelling in a Toyota Hilux bakkie which then overturned at the Mayiwane intersection. – African News Agency (ANA)
