Four lanes closed on N1 after shooting
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Four lanes on the N1 north between Rivonia Road and the Buccleuch interchange have been closed after a shootout between police and suspects on Thursday afternoon.
Motorist have been urged to avoid the N1 north.
JMPD spokesperson Edna Mamonyane said the scene could take a while to clear.
"Only one lane is open. Because it's a crime scene it's expected to take a while before the road is cleared."
Details surrounding the shooting remain sketchy.
Emer-G-Med said a suspect was shot in the chest.
"He was in a critical condition. The second suspect only sustained minor injuries," said Emer-G-Med spokesperson Max Cohen.
This is a developing story and will be updated as the information becomes available.
