Four Northern Cape learners suspended following racist utterances
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Northern Cape Department of Education has suspended four pupils from Hoërskool Duineveld in Upington after they were seen on video using the K-word, multiple times.

The teenagers were directing the racist remarks towards a Tik Tok content creator known as @UncleSeeno during a live TikTok chat.
The video has since gone viral.
Spokesperson for the department Geoffrey van der Merwe said disciplinary hearings have been scheduled for the 17th of September.
"The Duineveld High School has acted immediately, in line with their Code of Conduct and placed these learners on suspension. The content of the video goes against the norms and values we instill in our learners at school.
"The video send shock waves through the country and left many people in disbelief. The Department reminds parents to monitor the social media usage of their children and make sure they always act responsibly.
"Racism has no place in our schools and in our school communities," he added
