Four people killed in N17 crash

Ekurhuleni metro police have confirmed the deaths of four people who were involved in a head-on collision on Monday evening.

The crash took place on the N17 East near Tonk Metre off-ramp in Springs.
EMPD spokesperson Lerato Monyane says two cars were involved in the crash.
All the victims were declared dead on the scene.
“A VW Polo, which had three female occupants, collided with a BMW sedan, driven by a unknown male. Jaws of life were used to extract the occupants from the entrapment.
“All occupants including drivers of both vehicles were declared dead on the scene. The cause of the accident is still being investigated by law enforcement officials.”
“The use of an intoxicating substance is not excluded from investigations.”
