Four protesting truckers arrested for 'economic sabotage'
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested four men in a crackdown on a protest by truck drivers on the N3 between Johannesburg and Durban.

A number of trucks were left unattended at Van Reenen's Pass on Thursday, leading to major traffic backlogs on the busy route.
The truck drivers are protesting over the employment of foreign nationals in the trucking industry.
Police spokesperson Jay Naicker says more arrests can be expected.
"We can confirm that the N3 at Van Reenen's Pass has been reopened for traffic, four men aged between 40 and 59 have been detained for obstructing a national route, damaging or interfering with essential infrastructure, and economic sabotage."
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Fikile Mabalula has called for an end to the blockading of roads and appeals for truck drivers to allow the ongoing discussion to take its course.
A follow-up engagement on this matter is scheduled for Sunday.
