Four suspected rhino poachers have been arrested in the Kruger National Park, SanParks said on Thursday.
The first two alleged poachers were arrested on Tuesday while the other two were arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning, spokesman Ike Phaahla said. "A semi-auto 12-bore shotgun, ammunition, and hunting equipment were recovered," said Phaahla. In another incident, in the Mahlangeni area in Limpopo, rangers made contact with three poachers. A shoot-out ensued and one poacher was killed. Police in Limpopo could not comment on the arrests made.
