Fransman, who delivered his political overview on Saturday, would now focus on increasing the party’s provincial support base with the aim of winning back the Western Cape.

The overview speech as well as the reelection of Fransman as chairperson took place at the party’s eighth provincial conference in Belville at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).

Four other positions within the provincial executive committee (PEC) needed to be filled, namely secretary, deputy chair, assistant secretary, and treasurer.

The rest of the PEC positions had been contested and were to be resolved on the last day of the conference, Sunday. -ANA
