A case of Yvonne Mojanaga accused of illegal possession of a gold bar is expected to continue in the Welkom Magistrate's Court in the Free State on Friday.
Mojanaga made her first court appearance late last month and she was released on bail, Warrant Officer Malebo Khosana said.
The 50-year-old was arrested after the organised crime unit had received a tip off that led to her house.
Beeld newspaper reported on September 2 that the estimated value of the seven kilogram gold bar would be around R3 million, if it was authentic.
Protea Coin Security, contracted to Harmony Gold, reportedly alerted police that the woman, Yvonne Mojanaga, allegedly buried the gold bar at her shack.
According to the report, a piece of the gold bar had been cut off and was allegedly used to buy luxuries and attract potential buyers.
