Fuel prices increase in Gauteng
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Motorists in Gauteng will have to dig deep into their pockets in April as fuel prices are set to increase.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) says both grades of petrol will increase with diesel having a mixed rate.
DMRE spokesperson Robert Maake say the increase is due to the increase of oil prices and the weaker Rand.
"Petrol 93 Octane will increase by 65c/l and 95 octane by 67c/l. Diesel 0.05 will increase by 3.22c/l and 0.005 sulphur will decrease by 1.78c/l. Illuminating Parafin at retail level, will decrease by 58c/l and maximum retail price for LP gas will also decrease by 19c/kg".
The fuel prices are to come into effect next week Wednesday.
