GALLERY: Social Development donates 12 vehicles to NGOs
Gauteng's Department of Social Development has handed over 12 vehicles to organisations fighting gender-based violence.
The department says the vehicles are meant to help victims of gender-based violence who need to be taken to a place of safety.
"The 12 vehicles are meant for the shelters to respond swiftly when some calls to say ‘I'm experiencing abuse’. And they are able to pick up that person and bring him or her to the shelter," says MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza.
