Gang robs Joburg church, pastor shot dead

Gauteng Police have launched a manhunt for a group of six suspects who robbed a congregation at gunpoint before shooting dead the pastor who was giving a sermon.

The robbery happened on Friday night in Newlands, Johannesburg.
During the shooting three other people were injured.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says they are investigating a case of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
"One of the victims who succumbed to his injuries was identified as the pastor of the church. The suspects robbed people of their cellphones and other belongings before they fled the scene."
Meanwhile, three people have been killed following a shooting at a tavern in Sophiatown.
"On another incident, at Kathrada Park also in Sophiatown policing area, a group of unknown men reportedly entered a tavern and started shooting randomly at the patrons before driving off in a white bakkie."
"Three people lost their lives while eight were taken to hospital with gun shot wounds."
