Gang targets Middelburg jewellery store

Police are searching for five
suspects who robbed a jewellery store at the Middelburg Mall on Thursday.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Mtsholi Bhembe says the men pretended to be customers before pulling out their guns and holding up staff.
"At which point they started breaking the glass and helping themselves to the jewellery."

Bhembe says the gang also broke the windows outside and took the watches on display.
The suspects then fled the scene.
No injuries were reported and the police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
