Gauteng continues to lead with most new Covid-19 infections
A total of 24 034 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, with 262 new positive cases.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases says the latest increase represents a 1.1% positivity rate.
Gauteng recorded almost half of the new cases – at 126 new infections, making it the province with the most new cases.
A further 8 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89 484.
So far, a total of 2 925 939 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported in SA.
There has been an increase of 8 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours, with 3 608 people currently admitted in both private and public health facilities.
