Gauteng Education aiming to jab 12 000 teachers at new Midrand site
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Gauteng Department of Education has launched another vaccination site for the province's teachers.
The vaccination site, which has been set up in partnership with Discovery, is located at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.
The third wave of Covid-19 infections has brought the province to its knees since it swept into Gauteng two weeks ago.
Head of Gauteng Education Edward Mosuwe says the new vaccination site will hopefully speed up the inoculation of educators.

At least 12 000 teachers are expected to be inoculated at the site by Friday.
“We are vaccinating over 4000 teachers here today. Tomorrow we will be doing another 4000 teachers and we will do a balance of another 4000 teachers on Friday.
“This will include both SGBs and Independent schools.”
The 12 000 teachers that are being vaccinated on Wednesday will be in addition to the close to 200 000 that have been inoculated countrywide.
