Gauteng Education condemns school robbery

The Gauteng Department of Education says it is concerned over the break-in at the at Gideon Rambuwane school in Klipfontein View, Midrand.

The robbery took place on Sunday night.

Spokesperson for the department, Steve Mabona, says the criminals stole valuable equipment and cash.

 

Some of the items stolen from the school include one server, two laptops, 27 computers, two cameras print and video, close to R2000 in cash, a cheque book, log book, deposit book, and one gas stove.

 

He adds the incidents took place ahead of the School Safety Summit that kicks off on Wednesday.

 

The summit will be hosted by both the Gauteng Department of Community Safety and Gauteng Department of Education.
