Gauteng Education, Enock Mpianzi family reach settlement
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The family of the 13-year-old Parktown Boys’ High School pupil Enock Mpianzi and the Department of Education in Gauteng have reached a settlement.

The 13- year-old drowned during a Grade 8 orientation camp at Nyati Bush and River Break Lodge near Brits in January.
The family’s lawyer Wikus Steyl says since none of the defendants confirmed nor denied anything, it was a matter of closing the case.
"The amount cannot be disclosed, but after many months and long negotiations, we finally came to terms that the parents were happy with," says Steyl.
Initially, the family demanded R10 million from the department of education.
The Gauteng Department of Education released a forensic report last year implicating five teachers, the headmaster and the lodge in the drowning.
