Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi abused in racist rant
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi will lay a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission after a Twitter user called him a k****r and a paedophile.
Summer Starstead - an anonymous user operating under the handle @uncucklord tweeted the MEC at 03:13 on Sunday.
Lesufi's spokesperson Oupa Bodibe says: "The MEC will lay a complaint with the Human Rights Commission today."
The tweet included a photo from Lesufi's Twitter feed - in which he was wearing jeans in case he had to jump a fence to gain access to a crèche in Centurion.
Lesufi visited the crèche after a picture surfaced of white and black children sitting separately during meals.
"Here you have Gauteng MEC for education @lesufi ready to jump a fence to take pics of toddlers (sic). F***ing K****r pedo!", @uncucklord tweeted.
This incident is the latest in a wave of recent racist rants which have made headlines in the country.
