The High Court in Pretoria sentenced 33-year-old Kenneth Debeila to two life terms for the rape and murder of his 11-year-old daughter, Angela Makhura.
Debeila, from Nellmapius in Tshwane, was also handed a 15-year sentence for the murder of his girlfriend Itumeleng Makhura.
NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says Debeila has also been added to the national register for sexual offenders.
Mahanjana says Debeila raped and murdered his daughter while she was sleeping.
"Debeila was arrested on 13 May 2022 in Limpopo after handing himself over to the police".
"In court, he pleaded guilty to the charges. Through his attorney, he told the court that he was remorseful because he handed himself over to the police and did not waste the court’s time by pleading guilty," said Mahanjana.
