Gauteng opens late online registrations for 2021

The Department of Education in Gauteng has opened its online admission applications for late registration for grades 1 and 8.

Spokesperson Steve Mabona says the system will close on January 22.
"Walk-in centres will only open on 18 January for applicants who require assistance to apply. The systems will close on 22 January 2021.
“We would like to call upon all parents who could not apply in June/July to visit gdeadmissions.gov.za and grab this opportunity to apply accordingly."

He said parents who already applied in June and July will unfortunately not be able to re-apply.
"Parents of unplaced learners may continue to choose available schools in the system and those who could not upload documents may also upload accordingly."
The department has received 211 643 applications to date.
Mabona says 95% of pupils have already been placed.
