Gauteng police probe shooting of four in Soshanguve

Police in Gauteng are probing a shooting incident that claimed four lives in Jukulyn, Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.

In the early hours of Monday morning, police attended to the incident and found four siblings with gunshot wounds on the street.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says among the victims was a 14-year-old teenage girl.
"The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown at this stage and no suspects arrested as yet. The police request anyone who may have information that can assist with the investigation to contact the Crime Stop Line."
Meanwhile, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi is expected to visit the family and convey condolences.
Lesufi has condemned the senseless shooting of the siblings and called for swift action to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
“We denounce this heinous act of mass murder. We urge law enforcement agencies to do all within their power to track down the perpetrators and ensure that they are held accountable."
“In a civilized society, this kind of brutality is unacceptable. The Gauteng Provincial Government restates its unwavering commitment to aiding and strengthening all local law enforcement agencies to fight and defeat crime in the province."
