Gauteng police seize firearms, bust drug den
Gauteng police arrested one person and seized four unlicensed firearms as well as ammunition in Vanderbijlpark on Monday.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says they also recovered about fifty stones which they suspect could be diamonds.
"The stones are still to be tested. The firearms will be sent to ballistic to be checked if they might have been used to commit other crimes.”
The suspect is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court soon.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, police also busted a drug laboratory in Kensington.
"Police discovered the drug laboratory, what was believed to be a meth laboratory. Police further discovered drugs in the car, chemicals and equipment used to manufacture drugs. The car was also impounded.”
One suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
