Gauteng records 574 Covid-19 recoveries

Gauteng has recorded 1170 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 574 recoveries and seven deaths.

The provincial Department of Health announced the latest statistics on Tuesday.


 


Health Minister Zweli Mkhize confirmed on Monday that the country had 3,300 positive cases of Covid-19 and over a thousand recoveries.



A total of 58 people have died.



Spokesperson for the Gauteng Department of Health Kwara Kekana says the total number of confirmed cases sits at 1170.


There are 574 recoveries, meaning the province has 589 active cases of Covid-19.



Close to 3000 people have also completed the 14 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported.


"The balance of 4 032 contacts are still under daily monitoring. The Gauteng Department of Health has intensified the large-scale community screening and testing taking place at various communities, hospitals, mental health facilities, primary health facilities and correctional services facilities," says Kekana.


The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Gauteng stood at 7 on Tuesday.
