Gauteng records most daily Covid-19 deaths

South Africa's economic hub has for the first time recorded its highest coronavirus deaths in the country in one day.
The total number of deaths recorded on Thursday stands at 95, with Gauteng accounting for 38 in the 24 hours leading to Thursday evening.
The latest report by Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, shows that the Western Cape had 29 deaths.

There were 16 new deaths in KwaZulu-Natal over the same period.
As of Thursday night, the total number of Covid-19 cases increased by a whopping 8 735, bringing the total number of infections to 168 061.
The country’s recovery rate has also dipped to under 50% and stands at 48.8%.
Over 1.7 million tests have been done thus far.
