The department will open the doors of more sites across the province.

Some of the sites will be only be open on Saturday, while others will be open on Saturday and Sunday.

Spokesperson Motaletale Modiba says people must use this opportunity to get vaccinated.

"We would like to remind people who are eligible for vaccination that a number of sites in Gauteng will continue to operate over the weekend and therefore it provides the opportunity for those people to go and get the jab.

"It is also important to note that the sites will be operating during certain hours, from in the morning until lunchtime, therefore we want to call on those people to go in there to get vaccinated and be mindful of that time and get there as early as possible."

Kobie Muller Hall at Berth Gxowa Hospital in Germiston, Esangweni Community Healthcare Centre in Tembisa, and KwaThema Community Healthcare Centre in Springs will be open on Saturday.

Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto will be open both days.
