Gauteng residents warned over low water pressure

Rand Water’s Palmiet Booster Pumping Station experienced a power failure on Tuesday.

The utility says although Eskom technicians were called to attend to the fault and power was restored it will take time for the system to fully recover.
Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said the outage has had an impact on water levels at several reservoirs.
“The power failure resulted in the reduction of water levels to the following Rand Water reservoirs; Klipriviersberg, Klipfontein, Germiston, North Ridge, Brakfontein and Hartebeesthoek.
“These reservoirs supply water to Johannesburg Water, the City of Ekurhuleni, the City of Tshwane, and industries.
“Some areas that are supplied by these reservoirs will experience low pressure to no water for few days to come as the system takes time to fully recover,” added Maroo.
