The Department of Health in Gauteng says it has begun the process of implementing some of the recommendations from the Health Ombud's report on the Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital.

The Health Ombud released a scathing report highlighting the dire conditions and leadership at the hospital last year.
The Provincial department was given until March 2024 to act on recommendations made in the report.
Among some of the recommendations was the permanent appointment of the CEO and infrastructure refurbishment.
Gauteng Health spokesperson Motalatale Modiba says nine recommendations have been finalised.
“The department is committed to implementing the recommendations set out in the Health Ombud report to ensure that Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital operates at its highest standards and delivers quality healthcare services to the community it serves.
"As part of efforts to improve leadership and governance at the facility, Dr Arthur Manning has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of RMMCH effective 1 April 2024.”
