German tourist in the Eastern Cape tests positive for coronavirus

A German tourist has become one of two confirmed coronavirus cases in the Eastern Cape, when he tested positive for COVID-19.
Eastern Cape Member of the Executive Committee (MEC) for Health, Sindiswa Gomba, told the media this morning that the tourist was tested outside of the province.

"One was the first case that we had, the second one is the case of this tourist that was actually tested in Pietermaritzburg, but got the results when they were already in East London," says Gomba.
She has adds that the elderly will be prioritised ahead of the upcoming flu season.
"The department will continue the additional role out of the vaccination for flu starting from the second of April, " adds Gomba.
Meanwhile, there are currently 274 people who have tested positive for coronavirus in the country.
