Gigaba: No one is entitled to a ministerial position
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba says no one should feel entitled to any ministerial position.
He responded during a post budget breakfast on Thursday morning in Cape Town - while South Africa awaits a cabinet reshuffle.
"Nobody was born for a ministerial position, none of us".
"We all serve at the pleasure of the President. We are appointed by the President, reshuffled by the President", says Gigaba.
The Finance Minister has also stressed that President Cyril Ramaphosa should be given time and space to set up his team.

"The next step logically is him saying 'This is the team I am going to work with', and in so doing, none of us should place on the President a demand that I belong in your team".
"He will set up his team in a way he deems fit", adds Gigaba.
Speculation has been rife that Wednesday's budget could have been Gigaba's final one as Minister of Finance.
