Glynnis Breytenbach, former lawyer back in court for trial
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
The trial against DA MP and former prosecutor Glynnis Breytenbach and her former lawyer Gerhard Wagenaar is set to begin in the Pretoria North Magistrate's Court on Monday.
The two are facing four charges of contravening the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Act and two charges of defeating the ends of justice.
Breytenbach faces two additional charges of fraud and perjury.
The NPA is accusing Breytenbach of deleting information from her official laptop in 2012 when she was still the head of the authority's specialised commercial crimes unit.
The NPA claims Breytenbach deleted the information while she was being investigated for misconduct.
Breytenbach and Wagenaar were released on R10 000 bail each earlier this year.
Wagenaar is being accused of not handing over Breytenbach's official laptop while the investigation was ongoing.
