Government committed to working with VW
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
The government says it is committed to keeping the current automobile investors in the country.
Earlier this week, Volkswagen refuted media reports that it was planning to move its operations out of South Africa.
Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni held a post-cabinet media briefing on Thursday.
"As government we have acknowledged that load shedding is impacting on the manufacturing sector.
"There was no specific briefing on VW leaving South Africa and the minister responsible for trade industry and competition engages very strongly with the automobile sector. You'll recall that we have announced the approval of policy on electricity vehicle and the engagement with that sector."
