Government condemns Tshwane violence
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Government on Tuesday condemned the outbreak of violence and destruction of property in areas of the City of Tshwane.

Protestors have threatened to shut down Tshwane, demanding Kgosientso "Sputla" Ramokgopa be named the ANC mayoral candidate ahead of the local government election on 3 August.
The Acting Director-General of Government Communications (GCIS), Donald Liphoko, said government was appealing for calm.
"We appeal for calm around the city to create an atmosphere where constructive dialogue is possible," he said.
Liphoko said law enforcement agencies were hard at work to bring the situation under control.
"We urge communities to cooperate with them to ensure the safety of all citizens."
This comes as high ranking ANC officials meet behind closed doors to discuss the unrest in the area.
