Govt can’t find details about woman who birthed 10 babies at Pretoria hospital

The South African government says it has no record of the woman who allegedly gave birth to 10 babies.

This comes after reports surfaced claiming Gosiame Sithole broke the Guinness World Record at a Pretoria hospital on Monday night.
According to IOL, the 37-year-old gave birth to seven boys and three girls by C-section.
But government spokesperson Phumla Williams says they are having hard time tracing the new mom.
“Government has been unable to verify the authenticity of this birth at our facilities.
“We need to verify this story and provide assistance where needed,” Williams adds.

Guinness World Records is also yet to verify the births before adding the Tembisa woman to the books.
“Guinness World Records is aware of the news that Gosiame Thamara Sithole has given birth to decuplets, and we send our congratulations and best wishes to the family,” says senior publicist, Jessica Dawes.
“At the current time we are yet to verify this as a record as the wellbeing of both the mother and babies is of top priority. Our records team alongside a specialist consultant are looking into this,” Dawies adds.
The news left social media users with mixed emotions.
Hats off to Gosiame Thamara Sithole - you are indeed a SUPERWOMAN. When you have to feed a BIG fam, only KING-SIZED Chicken will do. pic.twitter.com/BeLOxBEViM
